About Stayput Tools

Stayput Tools is a collection of 69 free tools for working with PDF, image and document files: merge, split, compress, rotate, convert, resize and more. They all run in your web browser, so your files never leave your device.

Why it exists

Most online PDF and document tools work by uploading your file to a server. For a passport scan, a contract or a bank statement, that is a lot to ask of a stranger's computer. Stayput Tools takes the other approach: the tools are programs that run inside your browser, so there is nothing to upload and no copy of your document anywhere but your own device.

Why “Stayput”?

Because that is the promise: your files stay put. From the moment you choose a file until you save the result, it stays on your own device. It is not sent to us, and it is not sent anywhere else.

What we stand for

• Private by design. No upload, no account, no tracking of your files.
• Free and plain. No watermarks, no daily limits, no "upgrade to continue".
• Honest about limits. Where a tool cannot do something, such as editing a password-protected PDF, it says so clearly instead of failing quietly. The how it works page lists the limits.
• Useful guides. Alongside the tools there are 27 practical guides for the problems people run into most.

Built on open technology

The tools are built on well-known open-source projects: pdf-lib for creating and editing PDFs, Mozilla's pdf.js for displaying them, and JSZip for bundling downloads. Everything else uses the standard features of modern browsers.

Funding

The site is free to use. If we add advertising in the future, it will stay out of the tools themselves, and the privacy policy will be updated first to say what is used.
