    Smaller files, transparency kept

    PNG files can be large, especially for photos and screenshots. WebP stores the same picture in much less space and, unlike JPG, still supports transparency.

    That makes it a good choice for website images and logos. Check that the place you will use the file accepts WebP before you replace your PNG.

    Does WebP keep transparent backgrounds?

    Yes. Transparent areas in your PNG stay transparent in the WebP.

    Is the conversion lossless?

    This tool saves WebP with a quality setting (92% by default), which is lossy but visually very close. Choose a higher value for a closer match, or keep the PNG if you need exact pixels.

    Are my files uploaded anywhere?

    No. Everything happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, and you can confirm that in your browser's network tab. Close the tab and they're gone.

    Can I process several images at once?

    Yes. Add as many as you like (up to 50). Each one is processed on its own, and you download them together as a ZIP.

    Is there a file size limit?

    Each file can be up to 100 MB, and up to 300 MB in total. Because the work happens on your device, very large files depend on your available memory. A desktop browser handles them best.
